ENGLISH BULLDOG

Said to have originated in the British Isles, the name “bull” was applied because of the dog’s connection with bull baiting. The original bulldog had to be ferocious and courageous, and almost insensitive to pain. When dog fighting became illegal in England, fanciers set to the task of preserving the breed by eliminating the fierce characteristics. Within a few generations, the Bulldog became one of the finest physical specimens with an agreeable temperament.

Bulldogs are recognized as excellent family pets because of their tendency to form strong bonds with children. They tend to be gentle and protective. The breed requires minimal grooming and exercise. Their short nose makes them prone to overheating in warm weather, so make sure to provide a shady place to rest.

Pastor Alemán

El Perro Pastor Alemán ha sido una raza muy utilizada, ya sea en servicios humanitarios de lo más variados (perro policía, lazarillo, de rescate, detector bombas y drogas…) como en el cine. El más famoso perro fue Rin Tin Tin, un Pastor Alemán que sobrevivió a la Primera Guerra Mundial y que cosechó un total de veintidós películas en sus catorce años de carrera en Hollywood.

El Perro Pastor Alemán es vivo, atento, obediente y seguro de sí mismo. Es muy inteligente y tiene una alta capacidad de comprensión. No acostumbra a ser miedoso, sensible o blando pero le gusta recibir elogios y caricias de su dueño. Es un perro vigilante y un poco desconfiado con los extraños. Aunque se lleva muy bien con los niños, a veces no sabe medir su fuerza.

El Perro Pastor Alemán necesita grandes espacios para descargar la necesidad de hacer ejercicio físico diario. No es un perro adecuado para vivir dentro de casa pero es muy adaptable y puede llegar a acostumbrarse a la vida de interior.
De todos modos, el Pastor Alemán requiere largos paseos diarios para quemar todas sus energías y es recomendable proporcionarle sesiones de juego para que se sienta útil.

The breed is approachable, direct and fearless, with a strong, muscular body. The GSD may be most colors, but most commonly is black and tan.

El Beagle es un perro de origen inglés que se utiliza para la caza de la liebre. La reina Isabel I tuvo una jauría famosa en la que los perros medían todos menos de 25cm, algunos eran tan pequeños que se los podía transportar en el bolsillo de la cazadora. También se dice que durante sus banquetes, la reina dejaba que los perritos jugaran en la mesa, por en medio de los platos.

El Beagle es valiente, jovial, afectuoso e inteligente. Es un perro de caza criado para perseguir presas en el campo y acostumbrado a vivir en jaurías, lo que hace que esté predispuesto para la compañía y que pueda ser uno más en la familia. El Beagle es tranquilo y se adapta a todo tipo de vida, tanto en el campo como en la ciudad. Es un perro vital y de cachorro acostumbra a ser muy travieso.

A sturdy hunting dog, the Beagle should look like a foxhound in miniature. His hunting ability, combined with a merry personality, has made the Beagle one of the most popular dogs in the United States according to AKC® Registration Statistics. The most famous Beagle of all is Snoopy from the comic strip “Peanuts.” Today’s Beagle comes in two height varieties (13 in. and 15 in.) and any true hound color, including tri-color, red and white and lemon.

In the 1500s, most English gentleman had packs of hounds. Larger hounds tracked deer, while smaller ones went after rabbits. These were the first Beagles. The origin of the name “Beagle” may have been derived from the French term “be’geule,” referring to the baying voice of the hounds when in pursuit of game, or possibly the diminutive size of the hound.

Beagles are happy-go-lucky and friendly, making them a wonderful family pet. They are also favored for their compact size and short easy to care for coat. Since they lived in packs for hundreds of years, they naturally enjoy the company of other dogs and humans. Curious and comedic, they often follow their noses-which can lead to some mischief if they are not provided with daily activity.
